We’re joining forces with SPF South Florida!
Your print-obsessed friends over here at IS Projects and SPF South Florida are very happy to announce the most exciting merger in Miami’s print history! That’s right, we’re joining forces 😎😎
SPF expands its role as a sunny haven for printmaking and book arts in South Florida.
SPF is now an annual Small Press Fair AND a Shared Printmaking Facility, offering year round access. Read on to find out more about what this means for you.
IS Projects + SPF Small Press Fair = bigger better SPF
In addition to this merger, as you probably already know, we have moved our facilities into the Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami! This means we’ll be able to tap into Bakehouse’s diverse network of artists, alumni, and visitors while making space for our own network of artists and print folk within Bakehouse. We’re excited to work alongside Bakehouse, Extra Virgin Press (Tom Virgin), and Bookleggers, to help make the Bakehouse Art Complex Miami’s premier spot for printmaking, book arts, and zine creation.

What does this mean for you?
So SPF is now an annual Small Press Fair AND Shared Printmaking Facilities offering year-round programming and studio rental at the Bakehouse Art Complex! The new SPF studio offers hands-on access to, and training on professional printmaking, bookbinding, zine making and papermaking equipment.
SPF’s Shared Print Fac provides studio rental, workshops, artist residencies, internship opportunities, custom bookbinding, edition printing, and specialty paper and art supplies. SPF will take over all operations of IS Projects (aka Miami Paper & Printing Museum) while IS Projects will sunset as an organization (forever in our hearts). Check us out at www.sharedprintfac.org and @sharedprintfac
SPF’s facilities will be publicly accessible during our open hours Tuesday - Saturday 12-5pm. Bakehouse Resident and Associate artists will have extended access and discounts on studio rental. If you’re interested in a Bakehouse Associate Membership please fill out this form and we will reach out when applications are open.
Wait, what’s SPF?
SPF’s Small Press Fair is an event for local and regional artists, printers, booksellers, publishers, authors, poets, bookmakers, designers, zinesters and cultural workers to share ideas and showcase new work related to print making, book making and zine creation. Small Press Fair was founded in 2016 by Ingrid Schindall and Sarah Michelle Rupert and has put on a fair every year since(except this one). Check us out at www.smallpressfair.org and @smallpressfair
Upcoming events and studio access:
We’re in the process of merging, unpacking, and settling into our new reality and it will take some time for us to have all of our facilities up and running. We’re aiming to have the studio fully up and running in January 2026 but we hope to bring different services and studios online gradually. We’ll be announcing our progress via this newsletter and on instagram.
Friday, November 7th from 7-10pm: Bakehouse Birthday Bash
We’re excited to offer a preview of our new set up during Bakehouse’s Birthday Bash. Tickets are $40 in advance and $100 at the door. The ticket cost includes food, drinks, salsa dancing and more and it goes toward maintaining Bakehouse’s mission and securing its future. We’d love to see you there!
Sunday, November 9th from 12-3pm: Monoprinting on Towels!
Join us for an afternoon of monoprinting on towels with Brian Butler. This drop in print session is a great way to get yourself ready for the Beach Towel Art Show while checking out the Bakehouse Print Room.
Thursday, November 20th: Give Miami Day
SPF will be participating for the first time this year alongside our bestie orgs Tropic Bound Fair, Bakehouse Art Complex, O, Miami, Exile Projects, Bookleggers, Extra Virgin Press, and Fountainhead Arts (just to name a few!). Please consider making a donation to any of the 1400+ orgs participating. Public funding is drying up fast making it harder and harder to bring you the quality programming that you know and love (heart emoji). Give on Give Miami Day, or give early on your time!
