Ready to use the studio?
We are now open to the public at the Bakehouse Arts Complex! This means all of our access programs are up and running. The information below is how our access was previously structured and remains here for informational purposes only. Please sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page to be among the first to receive announcements, program updates, and details on how to access our new space!
Studio Rental
If you know what you want to make and need our equipment to make it happen, studio rental is the option for you. We can support projects in a number of processes, including letterpress, relief printing, screenprinting, bookbinding, papermaking, and more. We have options for assisted and unassisted studio rental, so anyone can take advantage of this service.
Workshops
We have classes for curious and creative people at any level of experience, ranging from intro-level classes in basic book and print techniques to master classes intended to sharpen the skills of more experienced makers.
Private Instruction
Don’t see the class you want on the schedule? Anyone looking to learn a book or printmaking skill that we offer here can arrange a block of time to learn it! Scheduling is flexible. We refer to private instruction as “assisted studio rental” and can accommodate between one and four people per session.
Residencies
Artists looking for short-term, intense, focused time in our facilities may be a good fit for one of our artist-in-residence programs. We offer different types of residencies, which allow artists to make the most of our facilities and community.
Internships
Consider applying to our internship program if you are interested in committing significant time to developing your print, book, and paper skills in a collaborative public-access studio. It is a paid, competitive opportunity with many benefits, including studio access and mentorship from the SPF team.
